Your Galaxy Z Fold8 Ultra includes two high-quality displays designed for different ways of using your phone. The cover screen provides quick access to apps and everyday tasks while the device is folded, and the larger main screen gives you more room for videos, multitasking, reading, and productivity.
The specifications below provide an overview of each display to help you better understand your Galaxy Z Fold8 Ultra.
Main screen
- 8.0-inch QXGA+ Dynamic AMOLED 2X display
- 120 Hz Adaptive Refresh Rate
Cover screen

Your Galaxy Z Fold8 Ultra lets you continue using supported apps as you switch between the main screen and the cover screen. Instead of reopening an app after folding your phone, you can choose whether it stays open on the cover screen, requires a quick swipe to continue, or locks automatically when you close the device.
- Always: Continue using supported apps automatically on the cover screen after folding your phone.
- Swipe up to continue app: Swipe up on the cover screen to continue using the app after folding your phone.
- Never: Lock the cover screen instead of continuing the app.
Note: Some apps may not support this feature.
You can personalize the Home screen on your Galaxy Z Fold8 Ultra to match the way you use your device. For example, you can choose whether the cover screen mirrors the main screen, change the Home screen layout or organize your favorite apps for quicker access. These settings help you create a layout that's comfortable to use, whether you prefer keeping both screens synchronized or customizing them independently.
- Cover screen mirroring: Use the same Home screen layout on both the cover screen and the main screen.
- Home screen layout: Choose whether to use a separate Apps screen or display all apps directly on the Home screen.
- Show Apps screen button on Home screen: Add or remove the Apps button from the Home screen.
- App icon badges: Show notification badges on supported app icons.
Your Galaxy Z Fold8 Ultra includes several display settings that let you personalize the way your screens look and behave. You can adjust the brightness, change the refresh rate for smoother scrolling, increase the text size for easier reading, or reduce eye strain with display comfort features.
- Brightness: Change the screen brightness manually or enable adaptive brightness.
- Motion smoothness: Choose the refresh rate that best matches your preferences.
- Screen mode: Adjust how colors appear on the display.
- Eye comfort shield: Reduce blue light and adjust the screen color temperature for more comfortable viewing.
- Font size and style: Make text easier to read by changing the font size and appearance.
- Screen zoom: Increase or decrease the size of items displayed on the screen.
- Taskbar: Show or hide the Taskbar at the bottom of the main screen for quicker access to favorite and recently used apps.
- Continue apps on cover screen: Choose whether supported apps stay open on the cover screen after you fold your device.
Although your Galaxy Z Fold8 Ultra provides a large display for multitasking and productivity, there may be times when you want to use your phone with one hand. One-handed mode temporarily reduces the size of the screen, making it easier to reach items near the top or opposite side of the display. You can turn One-handed mode on and choose whether to activate it with a gesture or by double-tapping the Home button.
- Gesture: Swipe down in the center of the bottom edge of the screen.
- Button: Double-tap the Home button.
Note: To return the screen to its normal size, tap anywhere outside the reduced display area.
